CLIMBing TeaM Description:

Stoneworks’ Junior Climbing Team is a place for your climber to grow their knowledge and skills in the sport of rock climbing. Our teams focus on an array of aspects related to climbing, like being good stewards of the land, climbing etiquette, building confidence and trust, how to be an encouraging and positive member of our community as well as climbing techniques and exercises that will take their climbing to the next level.

We have 3 teams that are broken out into different age groupings. Each team focuses on exercise and movement that will help them improve their climbing while minimizing the risk of injury. Our team coaches choose warm-up workouts that are suited for each age group and not only promote physical health but are also relatable to the movements used on the wall.

Our climbing teams are built more as a recreational team sport with a focus on building skills and fostering relationships and have less emphasis on training for competitions. If we have kids on the team who are climbing at the comp level and are interested in competing, we now have a comp-focused practice to help these climbers hone their skills to prepare for climbing competitions. Team members are required to complete one season on the recreational level or can be moved to the comp team with the coach’s recommendation.

Though we are focused more as a recreational team, we will still be asking each team member for full participation during each practice as we find it helps motivate the entire team as a whole when everyone is participating in the workouts, warm-ups, and climbing routines set out by the coaches.

All participants will need to have an updated liability waiver completed before the team starts. Waivers can be completed using the “Waiver” link at the top of the page.

NOTE: Climbing team fees do NOT include gym membership/entry pass price and climbing gear is also NOT included in the team fee. Kids will not be able to “borrow” rental gear going forward but don’t worry, we have membership options that include gear rental and special gear rental packages available below or on our STORE tab above!

We’re excited to have you join the Stoneworks Team!
